The History Log enables you to log an event or interaction against a Landlord, Property, Tenancy, Applicant/Tenant, Contractor and Guarantor.

Add a History Log entry

To access the History Log on any record:

  1. Click the Blue Book icon at the top of the record screen

  2. The History Log screen opens. Click the Add Entry tab
  3. Complete the fields on the screen and ensure you add a F/Up Date (this is the date that will show in the ToDo List)
  4. Click Add


  5. An Entry added successfully message appears. Click Ok
  6. The entry shows in the History Log (Please see example below)

  7. You can double click the NOTES field to read the full text


Check a History Log entry has been actioned or dealt with

You can show or check an event in the History Log against a Landlord, Property, Tenancy, Applicant/Tenant, Contractor and Guarantor, has been actioned and/or completed. To do this:

  1. Click the Blue Book icon at the top of the record screen
  2. The History Log screen opens. Items that have been actioned or completed will show with a tick in the COMP column

  3. To show an entry has been completed, double click the relevant FUP column field (follow up date) and the date will change to todays date, whilst marking the COMP column field with a tick


Hide older information in the History Log

You are able to restrict how much information is shown in the History Log. To do this:

  1. Click Defaults on the main toolbar
  2. Click User Defaults on the dropdown menu
  3. You can add a default number of months to show for both the Global History Log, and the individual Records History Log. Enter an appropriate number in the Global History and Records History fields


Use of this function provides speed improvements for all users of the History Log and stops timeouts on very large databases.

The Global History shows the history of all records in winMan. To access it:

  1. Click Reporting on the main toolbar
  2. Click History Log on the dropdown menu
  3. Click the Blue Book History Log icon on the relevant record

Delete a History Log entry

If you add a History Log entry in error, or if you have an item that needs removing as it's no longer applicable, you can delete it.


If you delete the entry, it will be COMPLETELY gone and there will be NO way of retrieving it or knowing which record it related to. If you are unsure, we would recommend NOT using the below method

To permanently delete the entry:

  1. Click in a couple of the columns of the entry, for example, click in the NOTES field, the Init field and the EVENT field for the entry you wish to remove
  2. Click on the grey box to the left of the item row to highlight the entry (it will show as blue when it's highlighted)


  3. With the entry highlighted, press the Delete key on your keyboard and this will permanently remove the entry

If you follow the above steps and nothing happens, it may be that you don't have security clearance to delete History Log items. Please speak to your manager in the first instance to request this permission.
