The steps below show you how you can set up:
- Branches to assign to records
- Departments to assign to records
- Fee Earners to assign to records
After your have added the Branch, Department and Fee Earner, you will need to assign them, so you can select them in an Information record.

Branches
There is a character limit of 10 when entering the Branch Code. You may need to abbreviate the name of the branch to fit it in the character space.
- Click Defaults on the main toolbar
- Click User Defaults on the dropdown menu
- Click Branch, Dept, Fee Earner
- Click on the Branches tab
- Click on the next available line, then start adding the details of the branch you want to add
- Order - The position of the entry as it appears in the dropdown list
- Branch Code - The short name of your branch
- Description - There is no set guideline for branch names, as long as it's relevant to you as a user
- Click X to close
- Click Close
To select the Branch on a record, you will need to assign it to a Department and Fee Earner.

Departments
There is a character limit of 10 when entering the Dept Code. You may need to abbreviate the name of the department to fit it in the character space.
- Click Defaults on the main toolbar
- Click User Defaults on the dropdown menu
- Click Branch, Dept, Fee Earner
- Click on the Fee Earner Codes tab
- Click on the next available line, then start adding the details of the department you want to add
- Order - The position of the entry as it appears in the dropdown list
- Dept Code - The short name of your department
- Dept Name - There is no set guideline for department names, as long as it's relevant to you as a user
- Click X to close
- Click Close
To select a Department on a record, you will need to assign it to a Branch and Fee Earner.

Fee Earners
There is a character limit of 10 when entering the Fee Earner Code. You may need to abbreviate the name to fit it in the character space.
- Click Defaults on the main toolbar
- Click User Defaults on the dropdown menu
- Click Branch, Dept, Fee Earner
- Click on the Fee Earner Codes tab
- Click on the next available line, then start adding the details of person you want to add
- Order - The position of the entry as it appears in the dropdown list
- Fee Earner Code - Enter a short name for the person, a maximum 10 characters
- Name - The persons first name
- Surname - The persons last name
- On your keyboard, press Tab to confirm the new entry
- Click X to close
- Click Close
To enable the selection of a Fee Earner on an Information record, you will need to assign it to a Branch and Department.
