The steps below show you how to refund part of a deposit and hold some back for future expenses.
If you need to retain some deposit, e.g. for a late invoice, you can reduce the Balance to Refund figure, retaining a balance of money which can later be allocated to another invoice or refunded to the Tenant if required.
- Double click Tenancies from the side menu
- Search for the relevant Tenancy using Search Text by Name, Code or Status
- Alternatively, find the Tenancy using Additional Options from the dropdown menu
- Or select a Branch if multi branch is set up on your CFPwinMan
- Select the Tenancy
- Click Deposit Refunds
- Balance to Refund - Change the amount to the sum which you are going to refund your Tenant, this will leave a balance of the amount retained
- Include History - Located underneath Balance to Refund, this will include the full history of deposit transactions in the Refund Note
- Click Preview - The Refund Note will show the retained amount
- Send Options - Click the preferred option to send the Refund Note or untick to not send
- Click Update
